Project Butterfly's Annual Vegan and Vegetarian Tamales Workshop will take place Sunday November 22nd. Right on time to impress your friends and family during the holidays!

In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to prepare basic vegan and vegetarian tamales. We will work with recipes derived from central Mexico, the most commonly known type of tamales in California.

Where to buy the Mexican ingredients that make tamales so tasty
How to make Vegan tamales masa (tamales dough)
How to make different delicious fillings
How to wrap tamales in corn husks
The proper cooking procedures
How to prepare 2 fresh Mexican salsas from scratch

By the end of the workshop we will taste the tamales and salsas we prepared, plus you will be able to take some fresh tamales home with you to share with your loved ones. You will also take a recipe booklet that includes the recipes we worked with and a list of resources where you can purchase ingredients for your next tamales cooking adventure.
