Session 019 | Sunday | 23 Nov 08 | 5pm | $25

Project Butterfly invites you to a very special and unique Vegan Tamales Workshop hosted by Midori Takata.

During the holidays there are two things that are a major part of Mexican tradition: Fiestas and Tamales. These delicious bundles of flavor called Tamales have been part of Mexican culture since the time of the Maya.

We invite you to have a taste of Mexico in this Vegan Tamales Workshop. By the end of this workshop you will take home delicious recipes as well as fresh hot tamales and salsas to share with your loved ones.

In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to prepare basic vegan tamales from scratch. We will work with recipes derived from central Mexico, the most commonly known type of tamales in California.

In this workshop you will learn:
where to buy the Mexican ingredients that make tamales so tasty
how to Make Vegan Tamales Masa (tamales dough)
how to make different Delicious Fillings
to wrap Tamales in Corn Husks
the proper Cooking Procedures
how to prepare 2 fresh Mexican Salsas from scratch

This is a unique cooking workshop opportunity, we look forward to having you join us.
